The last 2 races of the Spring Series were run last Sunday with a small fleet enjoying pre-sailing banter amidst the English drizzle. It seems the forecast kept most sailors in front of the TV instead of at the lake, and maybe they had the right idea?

Although the fleet was smaller, with about 14 participants, the excitement was palpable as sailors gathered to compete. This reduced turnout was due to several LSWSA members participating in the Lake Cootharaba Cat Challenge Regatta.

…Race 7 was characterized by impressive speeds, with some boats reaching nearly 20 knots on the reaches. The excitement continued into Race 8, where the weather remained fine but possibly windier…

…by the second race there was a fairly consistent breeze to get everyone around the course. A very mixed fleet of 20 boats with a number of monos as well as the cats….

It was great to see a nice size fleet considering it was fathers day and nice to see some members social sailing, or just relaxing and picnicking on the shores and watching the sailing.
