2026 Championship Heat 2

Skippers, Please find attached the Results of yesterday's sail.

We had four boats on the water for this Championship event. Les would have been another starter but he had to leave for family reasons before we got on the water. Les, hope all is going well.

I was lucky enough to take out the day followed by Bruce and John.

When Bruce and I were setting the course, we noticed heaps of weed floating on the lake (more than I had seen before) and it appeared we were going to be in for a shocker of a day. But to our surprise it did not create a lot of issues and was blown onto the bank later in the morning.

Breezes were a little unpredictable, mostly coming in from the West.

Bruce was bringing his boat in during the Lunch Break when a gust of wind drove his boat in under the ramp snapping the mast on his A Swing Rig. Bruce taped it up with electrical tape (in his usual style) and continued to sail for the rest of the day in relatively gusty breezes, and to everyone's surprise, it managed to stay together.

Because Anzac Day Weekend is in two weeks, our next sail will be in three weeks and will be Handicap Heat 4 on Sunday 3rd May.

Hope to see you then.

Bob Worton
