Winter Series Races 9 & 10
Lovely day for a sail. What more can I say. well maybe a little bit…
The new LSWSA weather station data meant that I couldn’t exaggerate (BS) the conditions for a change. Winds of 5-12 knots with fairly consistent breezes throughout the day made for a very pleasant day racing on the lake.
Race control is getting easier as our Commodore, Tim has designed a bespoke system, that even a twit like me can use. Thanks Tim. If it’s that easy then why not volunteer… yeah!. Free training included!
14 boats hit the water during the day. All divisions were represented even if some were solo. Steve L decimated division C in his N4.5 (he needs his own division!) The big boys had a great battle with: A class, N5.8s. Taipan and a Nacra 17 and were great to to watch from Race Control. Peter M’s international canoe was was great to see as well.
Good to see a couple of newbies amonst the fleet as well.
Huge thanks to Rob and Terry for running the safety boat today. Marina and I managed Race Control.
Sitting in Race Control, we also enjoyed watching a number of birds on the lake including; Black Swan, Pelican, Spoonbill, Stilt, KIte and more…
