About LSWSA

Welcome to Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Association

The Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Association was founded in 1976 and has developed about 4.5 hectares on the south bank of Lake Samsonvale into a well grassed and tree shaded area. Our clubhouse has a covered deck area, showers and toilets.

Members may cook on a number of wood-fired barbecues distributed around the grounds. We are a family-friendly club… this venue is excellent for beginners or those wanting to introduce the kids to water sports, while being challenging enough for more experienced sailors. Sail training for Juniors is becoming very popular.

We welcome all types of vessel… canoes and kayaks, windsurfers, and sailboats of every class. Check out our calendar for competition days, we have fairly informal events for trailer boats, skiffs and multihulls. You may attend on these days without necessarily competing, but get to meet other members and feel secure knowing the safety boats are on patrol.

In 2019, our Radio Controlled Yacht Division was established  and operates on alternate Sundays to club racing with the junior learn to sail classes.

For a fee, club members may store their vessels in a well-maintained boat park. Undercover storage is available for smaller vessels. A caretaker’s flat is occupied by a full-time caretaker. Security at the site is excellent.
