Lake Samsonvale Watersports Association OPEN DAY

Time: Gates open to public from 9:00am – 3:00pm
Where: Austin Rd, Cashmere QLD 4500 (look out for the Flag at the Entry)

Join us for an Open Day packed full of fun and activities

All activities are FREE:

Try Sailing: Jump on board a catamaran or small skiff for a sail on the lake. A small supply of lifejackets will be available on the day. (Bring your own life jackets if you have them). There will be 2 safety boats out on the day.
Join in the AMAZING RACE. Complete the fun challenges and go in the draw to WIN A YEAR’S FAMILY MEMBERSHIP or other prizes*. This fun event is designed for the whole family with challenges and simple questions suitable for any age. You get a choice of whether to try sailing or paddling or radio controlled yachting as a part of the challenges. It's always more fun in a team.
Have a go at the challenging sport of Radio Controlled Sailing
FREE sausage sizzle. 11:00am – 1pm. Paul Rowell, our commodore, will be on the BBQ and he loves to chat, so bend his ear about all things LSWSA.
Sunstate Water Sports will have a variety of paddle craft to try out.
Brisbane Catamaran Centre will be there for all things Nacra and Maricat.
There’s a small playground for the kids near the clubhouse.
Have a picnic on the grass and watch the fun
Get a guided tour around the premises with one of our members.
Chill out on the Clubhouse deck and watch the sailing
Toilets and showers are available on site.

What to Bring:

Bring your sense of adventure and your *swimmers, footwear that can get wet, (eg: thongs, crocs), towel, spray jacket and life jackets if you have them. We will have a small supply of lifejackets.*
Food available on the day will be a FREE sausage sizzle, so please cater for yourself beyond that. There will be coffee and tea and cold drinks available for purchase on the day.

Skippers of any boats brought to LSWSA OPEN DAY are solely responsible for their own insurance at this event
Event is weather and other factors dependant and may be postponed or cancelled
*Swimming or fishing is NOT permitted in this part of the lake.
The gates will only be open to the public from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
The grounds below the clubhouse are not suitable for wheelchairs as they are sloping grass and may be slippery.
Please drive slowly on the gravel entry road. It is a narrow road and you’ll need to pull over at times to allow vehicles to pass from the opposite direction.
Please follow directions given by members when parking.
DO NOT park closer than 20 metres from the water and you must park parallel with the water.
