Spring Series #3&4

Another beautiful day out on the lake today. Light and variable winds initially, but by the second race there was a fairly consistent breeze to get everyone around the course. A very mixed fleet of 20 boats with a number of monos as well as the cats.

Couple of good battles going on with Steve L and his son and David C, who all sailed exceptionally well (as usual) David had the rest of the family out on the water sailing small monos which was great to see.

Also good to see was Paul, the club’s caretaker back on the water after a couple of months off.

Steve C and I both managed to stuff a few things up on the first race and then one Weta skipper led the other Weta skipper around the wrong way which made a right mess of things :). Someone else got stuck in some weed in the shallows, but hopefully everyone had a great day out on the water.

Don’t miss the next Spring race in a fortnight.

Thank you to Ferdinand and Simon for manning the rescue boat, Nigel on the scoring, and Paul for taking over Race Control. Very much appreciated.
