Leadership change: LSWSA President
LSWSA President: Rob Plenderleith
Following Tim Hunt’s resignation, the LSWSA committee today voted unanimously to elect Rob Plenderleith as interim President from now until the AGM.
The committee extends its thanks to Tim for his commitment to LSWSA which included simultaneously being President, Commodore, Race Officer, and Sailing Instructor. Tim’s achievements included building the new utilities and safety boat storage shed, upgrades to the Learn to Sail fleet, and bringing Paddle Queensland championship events to the lake. Tim is continuing as Commodore / Race Officer, and Sailing Instructor.
Rob Plenderleith often crews the safety boat during racing events, and has been on the committee for about 5 years. He is primarily a sea kayaker, and lives close to the lake. Rob contributes “photos from the safety boat” to the Facebook page, and helps with projects and maintenance. It is rumoured that he is an ally of the water pixies which live in the lake, but you’ll have to ask him if you want details.
