Location

Lake Samsonvale is the nearest lake sailing and water sports venue for the Brisbane area. It is located in the pretty Samford Valley on the northern outskirts of Brisbane.

The lake is on the upper reaches of the North Pine River, about 45 minutes by car from the City and within minutes of northern Brisbane suburbs. It offers a great venue for sailing, rowing, canoeing and relaxed watching from a well-maintained clubhouse. A grassed shoreline gives heaps of room to rig, with direct access to the water.

Because the Club operates on a lake regulated by SEQ Water, keys to the locked gate are only available to Club Members. Visitors may accompany members, or access the Lake by prior arrangement.

The turnoff to our venue is marked by a sign on Winn Road, approached either from Strathpine along Samsonvale Road or from Samford and Closeburn along Mount Samson Road. It takes about 10 minutes to drive from either Strathpine or Samford to the locked gate, and a few more minutes down a well-maintained forest track.
